Double Jointed Bit
Double jointed bits are among the most commonly used bit types for horses, thanks to their simple design and clear effect. With a joint in the middle, it creates pressure over the bars when the rein is pulled – something that many horses respond well to. A double jointed bit consists of two parts joined in the middle, which makes it form a “V” shape when the rider pulls the rein. This creates direct pressure on the bars and can have a slightly sharper effect than a three-piece bit.
