Trust bits are handmade and made of sweet iron, which has a sweet taste and stimulates saliva production. The bits will lose their blue color over time and become rust-colored.
Be careful to dry the bits thoroughly after riding.
The gag bit is used with special cheek pieces that run through two loops where the rein is attached to a ring at one end. The gag applies pressure on the poll and the bars. Suitable for horses that easily lower their back and raise their neck while becoming a bit strong.
This bit is three-part with an oval drop in the middle. The loose rings provide more direct contact and quicker release when the rein is eased. Horses tend not to become as dull in the mouth with loose rings as with fixed ones if they tend to become strong.
This bit is 16mm thick.
