Bredt sortiment

3-piece bit with two functions in one.

With a copper middle part, horses generally seek better support as it provides a sweet taste in the mouth and promotes saliva production. A three-piece bit does not exert pressure on the palate but is distributed over the tongue and bars, thus not creating a nutcracker effect on the lower jaw.

Loose rings provide direct contact with the mouth and the release is quicker, making it less likely for the horse to cling as easily as with an eggbutt bit with fixed rings.

This bit has two different sides and can be turned 180 degrees to achieve the desired effect.

One side is softly rounded like a regular 3-piece bit, while the other side has a straighter edge that makes the bit sharper and allows you to use milder aids. Switching sides occasionally can also be beneficial if you have a horse that easily becomes insensitive to a regular three-piece bit, then turn the bit to the sharper side to get the horse's attention and switch back to the soft side after a few days.

The inside of the bit is marked with "Soft" and "Strong" to easily distinguish the correct side. One side is also marked with a plus sign (+) + sign in the left corner of the mouth = Sharp side + sign in the right corner of the mouth = Soft side
