The entire bit is jointed and does not catch, which encourages the horse not to lean on the bit.

The gag bit is used with special cheek pieces that run through two loops where the rein is attached to one end's ring. The gag applies pressure on the poll and the bars. Suitable for horses that easily lower their back and raise their neck while becoming a bit strong.

Best suited for experienced riders with soft hands. Can advantageously be used with two reins, where one is attached to the gag strap (cheek piece) and the other to the bit ring.
