Chondrogen 100PRO is recommended for the training and older horse to promote optimal joint function and contains high molecular weight hyaluronic acid along with chondroitin sulfate and glucosamine sulfate. These three components are naturally found in cartilage and work synergistically to ensure the joint functions normally.
The natural occurrence of glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate decreases with age and when the horse's joints are subjected to stress.
Hyaluronic acid is naturally found in the joint where it has the following functions:
- Lubricating function of joint cartilage and joint capsule
- Shock absorption for all joint structures under load
- Transport of nutrients and waste products
Dosage: Initially, give 1 scoop twice daily per 500 kg body weight for one week. Then give 1 scoop once daily per 500 kg body weight for one week or longer. Once the desired effect is achieved, give 1 scoop every other day per 500 kg body weight as a maintenance dose. The powder is given in conjunction with feeding. Powder with molasses flavor for easy administration.
