Feed supplement for horses. Organic selenium with vitamin E and inulin. Selenium supplement on nature's terms.

Vitamin E is an antioxidant that has an important protective function in the body, as it is attributed with the ability to neutralize so-called free radicals that break down muscles during work. Vitamin E counteracts the oxidation in the body's cells caused by free radicals – a process that, if unchecked, leads to cell damage. Vitamin E also contributes to the oxygen supply to the muscles and the formation of blood vessels, and is important for the immune system and fertility.

The horse inhales a greater amount of free radicals the more it works, which means that the need for vitamin E increases with hard work. The requirement varies with the composition of the feed ration, training, and the horse's performance level. Other circumstances that increase the need for vitamin E are cold weather, feeding with new oats, fermented feed, and pregnancy.

Lack of vitamin E in the feed ration can lead to muscle damage. Vitamin E is fat-soluble and is stored in the muscles, fat tissues, and liver. It is important not to overdose vitamin E.

SeloE contains selenium, which is a trace element with an important physiological function in horses. Selenium is part of the enzyme that neutralizes free radicals (substances formed during the body's use of oxygen). Free radicals have a degrading effect on the body's tissues and cause aging. Selenium helps slow down this process. It also plays an important role in the immune system and is required for white blood cells to effectively fight bacteria and other microorganisms. Selenium interacts with vitamin E, and the two complement and strengthen each other's effects. To some extent, they can also substitute for each other.

In most places in Sweden, the soils lack natural selenium. Therefore, most Swedish feed raw materials are low in this substance. SeloE consists of vitamin E and organically bound selenium. Organically bound selenium is more easily absorbed by the horse, which is well documented. This is because all selenium in the plant kingdom is bound in this way. With organically bound selenium, the risk of overdose is also reduced. SeloE also contains the prebiotic inulin, which naturally contributes to better mineral absorption in the intestine. Inulin also has a beneficial effect on the entire digestive system.
