The 2½-Ring bit is the softest version of multi-ring bits because the ½-ring softens the leverage on the mouthpiece and the pressure on the neck.

The 2-part models are very popular as they are slightly curved and distribute the pressure more evenly over the bars and tongue. The middle link is designed in a way that reduces the risk of pinching and going too far up into the palate.

Square Twist creates more pressure points and makes it sharper than Round Twist and Smooth. The bit is made of sweet iron and will lose its color over time. Be careful to dry the bit thoroughly after each use to prevent it from rusting and becoming rough.
