Three-ring Butterfly from Beris
Butterfly mouthpiece has a correct anatomical shape in combination with a wider surface against the tongue, providing the sensitive muscle with optimal space with a very soft influence. The horses show their well-being by relaxing the jaw and sucking on the bit. If a sharper effect of the bit is desired, a side piece with leverage effect, such as a pelham, can be used. It can also have a mild corrective effect if the horse leans on the bit, then the rider can raise the hand so that the edge of the bit lies against the tongue and thus tells the horse to stop leaning, of course, this is followed by a release and normal hand position.
Multi-ring bits introduce poll pressure and also create a certain leverage effect if you use a cheek chain/strap on the bit, without a chain/strap it instead becomes a gag effect. How sharp an effect you want is influenced by which of the rings you attach the reins to. This bit is often used when you want to test if the horse is comfortable with bits with leverage effect. Can be used with double reins or a delta rein.
