A gag bit provides more effect on the neck and in the mouth, offering greater control. The rein is attached to special side pieces that run through the loops in the bit rings (you can find these here). It can be used with a rein in the gag strap, two reins where the other is attached directly to the bit, or with a delta.
Advantages of Golden-/Silver Wings:
- The ergonomic plates on the sides prevent pinching and chafing and distribute much of the pressure away from the corners of the mouth
- The plates on the side help keep the bit in the same place in the horse's mouth
- Middle part in "Sweet Copper" for increased saliva production, which leads to the horse accepting the bit faster and having a more pleasant experience throughout the session
