This is a two-piece bit with loose rings and a twisted mouthpiece.

The link in the middle of the bit locks and becomes fixed when the horse pulls too much. The twisted mouthpiece provides a sharper effect than a smooth bit. The loose rings offer more direct contact with the horse's mouth and also a quicker release when the rider eases the hand.

This bit should only be used by experienced riders as it is a sharp bit.
