Sofia is the result of Fager's latest research where the pressure is distributed more favorably in the mouth and reduces the risk of pressure injuries. The mouthpiece is angled forward over the tongue to give a sensitive tongue space and increase comfort for your horse. This design also gives the bridoon more freedom and removes the risk of pinching between the bridoon and the curb bit.

When the chain engages with rein contact, Sofia's arch/tongue relief goes over and applies pressure against the tongue and lifts the pressure off the bars. This is because the bars should not have such a large load when the chain presses the bit against the bars and the tongue is left completely free. There must the tongue take over the force. With Sofia, the constant pressure against the tongue is removed, but maintains clarity in contact.
