The XC helmet has been designed to meet the safety requirements for extreme disciplines such as eventing and gallop/monté, which require even more safety than, for example, jumping and dressage. To participate in international competitions in these disciplines, a special certification on the helmet is required: PAS015 standard.
This means that the thickness of the inner and outer shells must be increased, making the helmet slightly heavier than a regular Samshield.
Therefore, Samshield has chosen to use a pure carbon fiber outer shell, a material that provides unbeatable strength relative to its weight.
The XC helmet is also certified to CE EN1384 (Europe), BS EN 1384:2012 (United Kingdom), and SEI/ASTM F1163 (USA) Standard.
The helmet has two air intakes at the front, providing excellent ventilation. Air enters through the opening under the blazon and through the cut-out section at the front of the forehead. The fresh air pushes the warm air out through the rear openings, making you sweat much less with this helmet.
The XC helmet has pads specially designed for it; the regular pads do not fit.
The shell is available in 2 different sizes, and the size is adjusted with the help of pads in different sizes. This system also allows younger children in a growing stage to use the helmet without outgrowing it, as you can easily change the pad size instead of changing the helmet.
