The rug has a 300 g thermo-blend filling with graduated quilting that concentrates insulation over the horse's topline. This provides extra warmth over the shoulders, back, and hindquarters, where muscles often become stiff from the cold. A double filling continues down the sides for increased warmth, while a single filling further down towards the lower edge reduces bulkiness and gives a smoother feel.

The outer fabric is a strong 1680 Denier ballistic weave that is waterproof and produced in full width to minimize the risk of leakage. The inside has a silky-smooth antibacterial and antistatic lining that helps the rug balance over the back and "self-correct" itself, providing a more stable fit in the paddock.

To avoid tension and chafing, the rug uses a globally patented two-piece skirt that breaks the pull around the lower edge. This allows the horse to move more freely in the shoulders and hindquarters while the rug retains warmth and protects against splashes. Elastic shoulder gussets provide extra freedom of movement and follow the horse's contours to reduce heat loss.

The design-registered 45° angled T-bar front closure, reinforced with durable hook-and-loop fastener, provides a tight but pressure-free fit that reduces the risk of chafing over the shoulders and chest.
