Eggbutt Pivot bit from Bombers.
The eggbutt prevents the horse from being pinched at the lips/corners of the mouth by the bit rings and provides a more stable feel against the face. It also prevents the bit from being pulled through the mouth. The release is somewhat slower and it also applies slight pressure to the poll.
The Pivot mouthpiece allows the bit to move at the joint. At the same time, it maintains its shape in the mouth and stays more still. The low port allows the pressure on the tongue to decrease and gives the horse more room for the tongue, but does not completely remove the pressure.
This bit is well suited for horses that are light in the contact and encourages the horse to seek more contact with the bit.
