Eggbut bit in leather from Beris

A leather bit is often highly appreciated and accepted by many horses that easily become unsettled in the mouth. The leather bit encourages the horse to seek better contact and promotes saliva production. Many young horses that are unsure what to do with the bit in their mouth tend to accept a leather bit much better than many iron/steel bits.

This bit is soft and flexible, and therefore sits very gently in the horse's mouth with even pressure. The fixed rings help keep the bit more stable and also encourage the horse to seek better contact.

Before using the bit for the first time, it should be soaked in vegetable oil until the leather is fully saturated. Repeat this process when the leather starts to look dry again. Rinse the bit thoroughly after each use and wipe it off, as saliva can shorten the lifespan of a leather bit.

  • Ring size: 6 cm.
  • Thickness: 20 mm

The leather material is not suitable for horses that chew a lot on the bit. Therefore, the bit is not covered by warranty or right of complaint if damage occurs due to the horse biting the bit.
