Feed for sand eaters!

When our horses are in bare ground paddocks, they can ingest large amounts of sand and gravel, which can accumulate in the intestines and cause the horse to develop sand colic. Some horses become easily restless and then pick up whatever they can reach, which means they can also ingest things like cones and bark. To help the horse transport this unwanted material out of the intestines, psyllium seeds can be used. The husk of the psyllium seed forms a sticky mucus upon contact with liquid, effectively carrying sand and gravel out of the intestines. Psyllium has long been used successfully in this way for horses. Psyllium also has a generally good effect on intestinal function by keeping bowel movements active in a good way.

Eclipse Biofarmab's high quality standards have resulted in us choosing to use whole psyllium seeds in our product because they have a better mucus-forming ability and a much longer shelf life in the stable's varying climate. Some horses are picky and may find that psyllium seeds taste and smell a bit strange. To accommodate these horses, Eclipse Biofarmab has also launched Psyllium Seeds with Apple Flavor. These psyllium seeds contain an apple extract to increase palatability without adding unnecessary sugar. Eclipse Biofarmab always strives to add as little filler and sugar as possible in our products.
