Loose rings provide direct contact with immediate release where the pressure on the tongue and bars ceases as soon as the rider releases the reins, and the bit assumes a neutral position in the horse's mouth.

Happy Tongue is a stable mouthpiece. It is curved with a port that provides tongue relief. Happy Tongue is a good bit to try if your horse:

• shakes its head
• sticks out its tongue
• pulls back its tongue creating a coughing sound
• places its tongue over the bit
• goes behind the hand to avoid contact with the bit
• pulls the reins out of the rider's hands, forward-downward

The rider will immediately notice if this is a suitable bit, as a horse with a sensitive tongue will finally start to make contact and accept the bit. You can then choose the side (rings/shanks) to adjust the sharpness of the bit.
