Bombers Loose Ring Elliptical Lock Up is a bit with loose rings that provides direct contact with immediate release. When the rider releases the rein, the pressure on the tongue and bars ceases and the bit returns to a neutral position in the horse's mouth.

Elliptical Lock Up is a three-piece mouthpiece with a locked, elliptically shaped center piece. It is a sharper bit than the Control plate because the contact surface against the tongue is smaller. This means that a horse that uses its tongue to push against the bit to take control will come back and tuck in its nose, making it easier to control. By locking the center piece, the nutcracker effect is prevented, which reduces pressure on the horse's bars. The pressure on the tongue increases slightly, making it a sharper bit than, for example, the Ported kernel.

Bombers bits are manufactured in South Africa and are completely handmade. This gives a unique opportunity to choose exactly how every little detail of the bit should be designed. You can choose the type of mouthpiece you want, the type of rings/cheeks, how thick the bit should be, and even if you want different lengths on the right and left sides of the mouthpieces. The mouthpieces are made of sweet iron and brass and are shaped to distribute pressure over a larger area. Rings/cheeks are made of stainless steel.
