The ST Hackamore primarily works through pressure on the nose via the rubber-covered noseband, with practically no pressure on the neck since the noseband is not attached.

The placement of the noseband can be adjusted by moving the stopper under the noseband. The leverage pressure is relatively light, and the back strap can be adjusted to regulate how quickly the pressure on the nose comes into effect.

It is important to ensure that the noseband sits on the bony part of the nose and not on the soft cartilage part.
